Overview

TF22-8040FR and TF22-4040FR fouling-resistant reverse osmosis membrane elements are designed for brackish-water desalination. They combine high permeate production with high salt rejection for large industrial and municipal water-treatment systems, including applications with challenging influent water quality.

Performance

Under the stated test conditions, both models provide 99.5% stabilized salt rejection and 99.3% minimum salt rejection. TF22-8040FR has 430 ft² (40 m²) of active membrane area and a rated permeate flow of 10,500 gpd (40 m³/d); TF22-4040FR has 108 ft² (10 m²) and a rated flow of 2,500 gpd (9.5 m³/d).

Published Test Conditions

Published test conditions are 1.55 MPa (225 psi) feed pressure, 25 °C (77 °F) feedwater temperature, 2,000 ppm NaCl, pH 8, and 15% permeate recovery. Actual system performance varies with feedwater quality and operating conditions.

Operating Limits and Selection

Operating limits include 41 bar (600 psi) maximum pressure, 45 °C (113 °F) maximum temperature, 1.0 bar (15 psi) maximum pressure drop per element, pH 2–11 for continuous operation, pH 1–13 for chemical cleaning, maximum feed SDI15 of 5.0, and free-chlorine tolerance below 0.1 ppm. Final model selection and pretreatment design should be confirmed against the feedwater analysis and required product-water quality.
